Chat guide
Here you can get help and supervision on how to use the chat. It's made to be as easy and user-friendly as possible. But if there is something that you still find tricky, you can most likely get help here. It doesn't explain all the functions available but it does explain the ones that may be a little advanced to use.

Ignoring is the best means...!
If you experience a chat user saying something ugly in a game or you do not want to see what the person is writing, you can put them on "Ignore". You do this by right-clicking on the user in the chat after which a dialogue pops up where you can choose "Ignore". You'll not see further messages from the user if you do this. When you log off the game and then on again, however, it will not valid on anymore. If you want to ignore a user permanently, you have to add the user to your block list. To do this you have to visit the users profile and click on "Block profile".
Ignoring a user is the best way to deal with people who cannot behave just because they are "hiding" behind a computer.
You can report a user to Spigo, if you experience that a user oversteps the line and says something that is totally unacceptable and against the rules or breaks the law using the chat. Remember you can only use this function if it is something that breaks the rules or breaks the law and not because he or she says something you do not like. You don't call the police either just because someone is swearing in a pedestrianized street...
Spigo also logs everything said in the chat and we automatically get a notification if certain words are used in the chat. We have a chat administration team who can make people silent in an arbitrary period and looks at reviews of users. All this helps create a positive experience for everybody in the Spigo chat. |

Tab function to find usernames
 |
The tab function is a smart and easy way to use to find a username quickly. You write the beginning letter of a username e.g. "a" after this you press on the "Tab" key on your keyboard (the key left from Q) and a list with all usernames that start with a will appear. You can now choose, using the mouse or arrow keys, which username you want and press "Enter". Note that the list only contains usernames of the users who are logged on the chat you are in. Please notice that this function is case sensitive.
Tip: If you have problems with the username not being chosen when you press "Enter", it's because the dialogue doesn't focus. It gets focus by being clicked on with the mouse one time, this it will always make it work. |
Short cut codes :-)
In order to make life easier for faithful chatters, we have made some short cut codes. There are three different codes, they are: /p, /pp and /ii:
/p username message /p "user name" message (if the username is in two words) /pp username /ii username
/p writes one simple private message for the user with a username. /pp adds username for users to write privately. /ii adds username on the ignore list. You can remove the short cut by using the same code again. |
